Wednesday Update

Happy Wednesday!

Do you all remember that bunny cake picture I posted on Friday? You know, the one that I sent to my Mom and asked her make it for me/baby G? Well, on Sunday - there was a knock at our door. It was my Mom and Dad... bunny cake in tow.

HOW AMAZING IS THIS?!?!?!?!

Well - it WAS very amazing. So delicious! Here is what the cake looked like on Monday afternoon.

Seeing today is Wednesday, you can imagine what is left of the cake now.  Thank you so much Mom for the awesome BUNNY CAKE! I love it.

Along with the bunny cake, my parents also brought us a newly re-finished cradle. Not just any cradle, but a cradle that my older sister and I both used as a baby. My Mom did such a great job on it. Pictures to come.

They also brought this onsie...

Some of us think Baby G will be here before or on Easter! So cute. If he's not here by then...we'll use it as an under shirt.

This week I've been working from my home office...except for yesterday. I snuck into the office for a few hours after my 39 week check up. I figured that I was half way there anyways, so it wasn't too bad. I'm getting settled into my home office and now look forward to working from home each day. It takes getting use to - it's a whole new set up, but working out great. I even get to spend my days with this guy...

That is usually where you will find him during the day. When he sits on the stairs, he's able to see down our front door walk way. {Always protecting him Momma}

As I mentioned, I had my 39 week appointment yesterday. Everything is still going well. Baby G is perfect...hear rate and size are right on track. I am also doing great...about the "same" as last week. I've had a lot more cramps, but all are normal. I have my 40 week appointment next Tuesday (which is really 39w5ds) - so we'll see what happens. My Dr will only allow me to go one week past my due date.

Here is a picture from Monday...I sat on the deck in the sun most of the afternoon.

Here's to hoping that my next post will be to introduce our SON to the world!

Friday thoughts...

  • I can't believe I'm past the 38 week mark. Baby G could come any day now! (and I'm ready for him)
  • I feel like it was just yesterday that Stew and I found out I was pregnant.
  • I have three girlfriends due within weeks of me. Two out of the three have had their babies!
  • We have a "Baby Pool" going - and the first date that someone picked is this Sunday!
  • I still think I'll go on 4/22.
  • At night...when I'm wide awake, I picture holding him for the first time.
  • At night...when I'm wide awake, I've noticed more and more cramps lately.
  • At night...when I'm wide awake, I look over at Stew while he's sleeping soundly...and I want to punch him. (I mean that in the nicest way possible)
  • I'm not nervous...I'd call it anxious.
  • My boobs hurt.
  • My pelvic bone hurts.
  • I think it's amazing that people actually think they are being helpful with their negativity.
  • I'm having a hard time rolling over in bed and sitting up.
  • I can't believe I'll be able to celebrate Mothers Day with my Son.
  • I still can't get enough chocolate...so my Mom is making me this...at the request of Baby G.

Chocolate cake with white frosting bunny cake! Ohhhh Mmmmm Geeeee!!!!
  • It will feel so strange to not have my belly. I love it - but I'm ready to have my old one back.
  • I still can't believe he's been growing inside me for so long.
  • I think Stew is going to make such a great Dad.
  • I think Nate is going to make such a great Big Brother.
  • I'm so excited for Easter - it's one of my favorite holidays. I'm hoping to celebrate with G in the belly or out.
  • I'm glad that all the snow is gone. I didn't want Baby G to come home with snow on the ground.
  • I continuously try to picture life with G and I love what I see.
  • I'm in awe of a lot things lately.
  • My boss texted me and said "how are you feeling?" I said "like I'm going to have a baby".
  • I find myself looking at things in life so differently now that our Son will soon be here.
  • Yesterday, the cashier at the grocery store wanted to carry my ONE BAG out to my car for me. Stew thought I should have let her. :)
  • I have never been so happy in my entire life than I have been over the last 38 weeks.
  • I'm ready.
  • We're ready.
  • Everyone is waiting for you G, I love you.

My first Son - the furry one

What can I say about our first "son"...he's such a good sport. Over the past 6 years...he has been our number one priority, our best friend, and really - our child. He is such a great dog...but to us, he's not just a dog.

We have done everything possible to make him feel involved over the last 9.5 months. He definitely knows there is something going on...and I think he knows things are about to change.

Something we have found lately is that he loves making us laugh. I had to capture this on video.

And today...I snapped this photo -

This is what I call - "practicing the diaper change"

I know everyone says that Nate will be neglected...but I don't care what everyone else says. He has a huge piece of my heart and I love him very much. We will do everything possible to make him involved as much as possible.

We can't wait to celebrate Baby G's birthday as a family of 4!

38 Week check up

This morning I had my 38 week check up. Stew joined me so that he could meet with my Doctor and for a second set of ears...just so he is fully aware of what we are supposed to do when things start happening.

Stew got to see what I do every week at my appointments. Weight check, urine check, blood pressure, and heart beat. His heart rate was 140 bpm today and sounded so good. The doctor estimates he is around 7 lbs.

After about 30 minutes of chatting with my Doctor - I asked if she thinks I'm making any progress. After a quick check, we found out....

I'm 1 cm and 50% effaced!!!

We know that this is not a definite indicator that something will happen within the next few days - but it does mean that he and my body are getting ready for the BIG DAY - whenever that may be. We just looked at each other and jokingly, Stew said "Someone call the ambulance". The baby is very low, but not engaged just yet. I had a feeling something was "happening" because I have been crampy over the weekend and the past few days. We are so excited. He can join us whenever he is ready!

My next appointment is on Tuesday. We are so excited knowing that he'll be in here about 2 weeks - or less!!! Eye-muffs, Stew - but I think I should go buy baby G an Easter outfit!

Here is a picture from this morning prior to my appointment!

37 Weeks

I have no excuse for my lack of blog posts. I really don't. I think it's because I haven't been in the office too much this week and the reality is that I blog at work. I have a lot pictures to post though - you're excited...I know.

First up - I mentioned that Stew and my Dad re-did our living room floors! I love it!!!

I don't know if you can tell - but he is looking at at little black and white kitty! He hates cats!

Last weekend we purchased a few things that we needed for G's room and I worked on a few craft projects for the room as well. Here are some photos from his bathroom and his nursery.

And finally - I'm 37 weeks pregnant! Only about 3 weeks until we get to meet him! I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and all is looking great. His heartbeat was very strong and he was very active. My weight has stayed the same, blood pressure was good and my Group B was negative. My Dr actually said that she wishes everyone felt as good as I do. Awwww! My next appointment is 38 weeks, on Tuesday and Stew is joining me for this one.

So here are a few 37 week photos - taken yesterday.

*Beware - my first "belly exposed" picture is below.

Stew and I are attending our last "class" - (Newborn Care) tonight...and are looking forward to a somewhat relaxing weekend with temps in the 60s! Yes...the Spring weather might finally be here.

Happy Thursday!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to a very special man in my life - my DAD!!!!!!

I love you, Dad! Enjoy your day!

Baby G can't wait to meet you - I've told him a lot about you.
