The 3 to my 4.

I refer to my son as IV, here in this blog-o-sphere, but his name is Stewart. He's the fourth (IV). But he'd never be IV without the III. And that III, is my Husband, Stew.

Both III and IV are my world. But only a few short 10 months ago, it was just me and my III. Very cliche, but he's my best friend...whom I miss dearly.

I say that I miss him, my Husband, because things aren't the way they were once before, before our IV was born.

We both work full time jobs, I like to think that I work more than one...like 101, but who's keeping score? (I am) You see, Stew and I were just a bunch of DINKs, living our life of Captain and cokes, expensive dinners and/or lunches, free-spirted travelers, who often sat out on our back deck and talked - all night long. No cares, no responsibilities, no worries - except, who was going to get up to make us another drink.

Things are different now.

Those days are gone.

But that's ok. That's what we wanted and planned for. But for just one day - I wish I could go back to that hot summer night, when Stew and I were sitting on the back deck and tell him how much I love him. Why not do it now? Why would I have to go back to "those" days? Because I want that feeling back. That feeling of not beings stressed, tired or worried...just for one night.

Things are easier than they were months ago. I have adjusted to being a new Mom, working from home and balancing every day life. But that didn't come easy. It came with a price...and my relationship with Stew was put on the back burner.

We are and were such a good team. Like, Bonnie & Claude, Ozzie & Harriet, Pebbles & BamBam, Superman & Louis! We thought to ourselves - "This newborn shit is easy". We breezed through it like it was our job, well it was our job. All good? Yes! But we never took the time out for each other...to talk, to hug, to kiss. I was needed by so many people (my baby, my Husband, my boss, my clients, my co-workers, my friends, my family) in my daily life that I just need ME time. So once IV would go to bed at night...it was me, DVR and my iPhone. No talking about our days - just silence. And yes, it is still like that today. Sadly, once IV goes to bed, we sit in the living room, surf our Twitter, Facebook and blog pages - and we don't catch up.

So for IV's 10 month birthday, I'm giving a gift to us...to me. I'm back, we are back. So grab yourself a Captain & Coke, Bubba...we are going out on the back deck (figuratively speaking)

I love you, Stew. Thank you for being the III to my IV.

Big Brother

No, IV is not going to be a big brother.

Nate is the BIG brother in our family.

These two were looking outside through the glass door - so I had to grab the camera and capture this moment from the other side.

Spring is in the air

I'm so ready for Spring! We haven't had hardly any snow this year - so I'm ready.

IV and I decorated the house for St. Patricks Day yesterday - and there might be a little touch of Easter thrown in too. I have a soft spot for Easter Sunday - IV was born on Easter last year.

The banner is super easy to make. All you need is burlap, string, stencils (or you can free-hand) and paint of your choice. I've made one for almost every Holiday.

And if you're interested in the cute "LUCKY" printable that I made - feel free to download it courtesy of yours truly!

I need a vacation

I do. It's true. I need to sit on the beach with a drink in my hand. Is that too much to ask?

Work has been slow this week - leaving me a lot of time to get out of the house with IV, but now - I'm SWAMPED...and I don't want to do anything. I don't want to work....ever again!

Don't I work hard enough - being a Mom to IV? Wahhhhh! (Yes, that's me - crying).

Maybe my Husband will read this and book me us a flight somewhere warm. Hmmm....Happy Wife, Happy Life - right?

Ok. I'm done.

My little terror love bug is napping and Hubs should be home within the hour - I'm going shut off my work computer and lay on the couch...hopefully Teen Mom is on my DVR.

Mondays

Happy Monday!
I had a busy little weekend - Saturday I had a newborn photo shoot and lots of errands to run when I got home. I spent the evening editing images and burning DVDs for my client. Busy, but good - and rewarding.

But you know, there is something about Monday mornings - I used to dread Monday mornings, but now...I love them. It's just me and my little man - sipping coffee, watching the headlines on GMA and playing with toys in our pajama's. It really doesn't get any better.

Happy Monday!

New Orleans - Part Deux

It's Thursday and our family is back together again. Stew arrived home late last night and slept in this morning to spend some time with IV.

I sound like a broken record, but I have to say...this was one of the best trips with Hubs. We had so much fun...got to let loose, enjoy each other, be goof-balls and have no responsibilities. It was a nice change of pace for us.

Ok - as promised, here are some iPhone pictures:

New Orleans Trip

I'm back! I had to leave Hubs in NOLA for a few more days, but it feels so good to be home and to hold my little one again.

This was one of the best trips I've been on. Stew and I had some much needed alone time together. We laughed so hard every day and had a lot of fun together. The memories I will take away from this trip were worth all the tears I shed when I left IV. Speaking of IV...he's such a big boy...hardly missed me and had a blast with my parents. He was very spoiled while at their house for four days.

So, in NOLA - We rented a car, toured Oak Alley Plantation, walked and shopped Magazine St, toured the Garden District, ate, drank, walked Bourbon, caught beads from the balcony's, threw beads from the balcony's, ordered room service at midnight, got a tattoo, walked more, took pictures and slept in.

Ok. If you follow me on Instagram...you saw a ton of pictures from my phone. These are not them. These are from my camera. Phone pictures to come...

Ok - that's all for today. More to come, including phone pictures and my favorite moments from our trip.
