Weekend and Maternity Photos

What an amazing weekend we had! Saturday we had some maternity photos taken at the house. Luckily, I know the photographer personally and he already sent me a few samples - which means, you all get a sneak peek.

Nate was so good during the photo shoot...and was very protective of me. Adorable! After the shoot, we headed to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for lunch and some drinks...then off to the mall so that I could do a little shopping for our Vegas trip. Let me tell you - packing for Vegas while pregnant is VERY different than packing for Vegas while not. But it was a successful shopping trip overall.

On Sunday - we finished up some errands and did things around the house. I, of course, started to pack and get things together for our trip...Stew watched the Daytona 500 and helped me with a few household chores.

Although today is a Holiday for some, we are working today. I think it's going to be a slow day - the traffic was light and the phones aren't ringing.

A letter to Baby G

Hi Bud!
That's what I always say to you - sometimes it's "sorry bud", but that's usually after I eat tacos with Franks Red Hot...you tend to squirm a lot after that meal. I still can't tell if you love it - or hate it.

{Great...I haven't said much yet - and already have tears in my eyes, which isn't good - because your Moms at work!}

I wanted to write you a little note today telling you that your Dad and I can't wait for you to get here. I want you to take your time growing big and strong in the next 7-10 weeks, but we are ready. If you're anything like your Mother - you'll arrive on April 28th...exactly 40 weeks, exactly on time and just a few short days after Easter! Easter dinner is a big deal in your family!

We fell in love with you the minute we saw you, heard you and knew about you. We always knew you would be our son - we just wanted the time to be right. We have planned for you, prayed for you, readied your nursery, readied ourselves and we couldn't be more excited to share our life with you. Your furry big brother, Nate is even getting excited to meet you. Last night he licked my belly for the first time. I think he was trying to give you a kiss. Or at least let you know he's ok with sharing us as parents.

I want you to know that although you are not here in person with us - you are so very loved already. Just take a look in your closet! Your Babcia and Dziadek (polish for Grandparents) have spoiled you so much already. You have more clothes than your Momma does - and you're probably thinking that isn't possible, but trust me - it is. And you're getting up there in the shoe department too.

Your Dad and I will be your biggest fans and we will cheer you on throughout your life. You are coming into a different world than we did. You'll need a good sense of humor, but don't worry -your Dad is a pretty funny guy - he'll teach you a few things. Always trust in your instincts, be loyal and honest. Remember to love and treat women the way your Dad treats me. Count your blessings. And don't ever let anyone take advantage of you.

There is so much love waiting for you - but please take your time and join us when you are ready. We can't wait to share you with the world - and share the world with you!

30 Weeks

I saw my Dr today for my 30 week check-up. She said I was in the "Every 2 week" club. Which means exactly what you think it does - I go to the Dr every two weeks. At 36 weeks, I'll go EVERY week. For now, it was more of the same. Measure my belly, listen to Baby G's heartbeat, pee in a cup, weight and take my blood pressure. Here are my stats from today:

• Weight: gained 1 lb since my 28 week appointment.
• Heart rate: His sounded great
• Blood Pressure: low but good
• Belly measurement: 29cm
• Glucose Test: PASSED!
• Movement: A lot
• Questions and Concerns: I have SPD or Symphysis pubic dysfunction. It is one of those weird pregnancy conditions. It means the ligaments that normally keep your pelvic bone aligned become too relaxed and stretchy. The culprit behind SPD is the hormone "relaxin." Its mission is to make your ligaments stretchy so your baby can ease his or her way into the world. Walking, standing, or rolling over in bed can really hurt as one side of the joint shifts more than the other, throwing everything off-kilter. No big deal though, just some minor pains doing some of the things I mentioned above.

In other exciting news, I was home on Tuesday battling an awful stomach bug. I was up all night throwing up and had a fever. I stayed in bed all day after calling my Doctor. Stew stayed home as well to make sure I was ok. He made me soup, brought me Popsicles, Gatorade, toast and rubbed my back when I was sick at 3AM. He did such a great job taking care of me that within 24 hours I was cured!

Seeing we were both home, Stew was able to put the Baby's glider together! I love it. It's perfect in his room.

Tomorrow is Friday - which means only another week until we leave for Vegas! We have reservations to do a few things so far. We are seeing this show at the Wynn -

And made dinner reservations at Del Friscos Steak House. They have a Prime Rib that I'm dying to try! We are also going to tour the Hoover Dam and do some tourist things as well. I can't wait. It will be a nice get-a-way for us.

Weekend & Belly Pics

This past weekend Stew and I toured the Maternity ward of our hospital. It's official - I'm so nervous! I worry. I worry about him. I want him to be healthy. I worry about being a good Mom. It was a surreal feeling being at the hospital...in the labor & delivery room - in the room I'll spend my first night with him. Stew checked out the TVs and the Maternity Ward Buffet. Things are going to come to so quick. I know I keep saying that - but as I look at our calendar, the weeks are getting closer and closer. I'm ready.

Today we lounged around all day - my parents stopped by and brought me these! I say me...but I should say "him", Baby G.

And when I say we lounged around all day - we really did. These two were watching the Celtics game and enjoying a little quality time together - Nate has no idea that he'll have to take turns laying on Stew pretty soon.

We aren't really "Valentines Day" people - it goes about as far as a few pieces of {heart} decor around the house. But tomorrow we'll enjoy a nice V-day dinner together, like any other Monday.

Ok - on to the belly business. Here is a 29 week shot and some 30 week shots. Only about 10 weeks to go!

29 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby G is the size of a butternut squash.

Total Weight Gain: 22 pounds!

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing a mix of everything, some maternity and some regular.

Gender: All Boy!

Movement: He is still moving a lot! His body parts will drag across my stomach or side and it makes me squirm. The feeling is different than anything I’ve ever felt before. Some kicks are harder than others, but he is very active and I love it!

Sleep: Sleep is still good - but it's getting harder to roll over and get comfy.

What I miss: Nothing. Ok- a glass of wine.

Cravings: Still sweets!!

Symptoms: Feeling great - but a little more tired than usual.

What I’m looking forward to: Vegas!

I have another Doctors appointment next Thursday! I feel like I was just there - but, I am down to every two weeks at this point. This past weekend, Stew and I did more shopping and decorating of the nursery! It's really coming together. I'm so happy with it. At night, I find myself leaving his light on. I'm not sure why...but I do. I go in just before bed and shut it off. 

We have a tour of the maternity ward at our hospital this weekend. We have signed up for two classes as well. One is in March, the other in April. We also have plans to take some maternity photos next weekend at the house! The days are flying by!

It all makes sense now...

I had my 28 week ultrasound today and I'm happy to report that, as of today, I will not need a c-section. We did get to see our sweet boy again - he was very active today...{the 10 ounces of pure "orange" sugar that I had to drink before my appointment probably didn't help. But more about that later.}

As the ultrasound tech began her measurements, she started with his head - I noticed that it measured 30 weeks! I didn't say anything at first and she continued to his belly...that measure almost 29 weeks. I said "Is he measuring BIG?" She said "He has a fat little belly and big head". He is measuring in the 70th percentile. The rest of his body is averaging out at about 29 weeks. Well, that explains why I feel like a popped over night, now doesn't it? He looked great and his chubby little cheeks are just too cute. Depending on how things go - I'll be re-checked around 37 weeks to make sure he isn't too big for me to delivery.

The Glucose drink wasn't as bad as I thought. I had to drink it in the car on my way in...I started at 8:30 and was done by 8:31. It tasted like an orange freeze pop...that wasn't frozen. My blood had to be drawn exactly 1 hour later - but I don't have "good" veins. It took 3 nurses and a lot of "attempts" before getting my blood. It wasn't a fun time. No news is good news, which I'm sure it will be. I'm now seeing my Dr every 2 weeks! I can't believe how close my due date is coming. I'm so ready to meet him.

I'm not sure what happened, but I went to bed Monday night and woke up Tuesday to find two things different. One was the large amount of snow coming down and the other was a very large belly.

I worked from home on Tuesday and I'm working from home again today. We are in the middle of a major BLIZZARD.

But back to the belly...like I said, I'm not sure what happened over night...but I POPPED!

I'm so excited for our ultrasound tomorrow. I just can't wait to check on him and see his little face again. I'm off to do a little work and enjoy the day with my boys...yes, Stew is home today too!
