Busy Bee

Happy Wednesday!

Things have been a tad crazy for us lately...between work and all these weddings/events, we've hardly had any time to just do "us" stuff. This past weekend I hosted a Bridal Brunch for my girlfriend who is getting married on Friday! And with that...it's a short week for us - we have the rehearsal and dinner tomorrow, wedding on Friday, Deerfield Fair on Saturday. Then, Red Sox v. Yankees on Sunday with my sister and her hubs.

I'm excited! Excited for my duty as "bridesmaid" this summer to come to an end. Don't get me wrong...all very fun wedding and events. It's just been a jam packed Summer season. And I'm excited for the Fall weather - the unbelievably yummy funnel cake, sausages and french fries I'm going to consume on Saturday at the Fair and the Fenway Franks that I plan on eating at the game. If for some reason we aren't up to going to the fair...we could always go the the WORLD CHILI COOK-OFF! Yes, I said "World". The great city of Manchester is hosting this year.



So that's our next few days...the weather is beautiful here in New England today. I'm wearing a cute shirt from Target. My co-worker said "It looks like an owl flew into you". He's so funny...about 60+ years old and an absolute riot. I responded and said "It's Fashion, Jim". HA! Here's the shirt...

A VERY Special Weekend

Happy Friday!!!
This weekend is going to be a very special one...for many reasons. BUT, the most important reason is because it's my boys 6th Birthday! I cannot believe 6 years have passed! The memories:

From him tolerating the "Dress up with Mommy" moments...

To making him swim...which he doesn't like...

To being a good sport at our Engagement session...

And we can't forget all those Holidays that "Momma" loves so much...

And helping us move out of the condo into our new home...

To being our number one "Bubba"...

Date Night and Weekend Update

Hello! Happy 1/2 Way!

We had a great, somewhat lazy weekend. Mister and my Dad finished painting our foyer while my Mom and I went shopping! By 2:30, I was home with lunch for my hard working Husband and we sat on the couch watching College Football.

Sunday, we tailgating at the NASCAR race. We managed to get some grocery shopping and laundry in there too. But the rest of the day will filled with cooking junk food football food and watching the Pats game. I did allow some time to make some fall sugar cookies! I've been craving them for a week now. They looked a little something like this. Delish!



Last night, I was off to do some more shopping. I'm hosting a Bridal Brunch on Sunday at the house for Ally, one of my lovlies...who is getting married on October 1. Then, I had a DINNER DATE ---- with Nate. Stew had a work event and wasn't home for dinner. So it was me and my other Mister...our dinner date started with some yoga (which he didn't take part in) ...followed by a grilled cheese dinner. Then we caught up on some "girly" DVR shows.

Update...by the numbers

Number One: Our Weekend
It's Wednesday, and I haven't even updated you all about our weekend. Sawey! Friday night, Stew stopped at the Outback on this way home. We had a Bloomin' Onion and bacon-cheese fries for dinner. Healthy, I know - but totally worth it. Saturday, we I had to do some cooking for the Jack & Jill Party. We hit the grocery store early, came home and I made a crock pot chili and huge Caesar salad. Stew watch college football and hung out with Nate.
Saturday night, we had my girlfriends Jack & Jill party. Tons of food brought by the wedding party, music, prizes and friends. It was a good time and I think the Bride and Groom made a decent amount of money. They're getting married in less than 2 weeks! For those that are counting, that's two down, one to go this wedding season.
We did take a few pictures and I almost downloaded them prior to leaving for the office today...but I ran out of time. I'll be sure to tonight this weekend.
Sunday, my amazing Husband took me to the Outlets! I ended up picking up a few shirts at JCrew. We had a nice lunch at Chili's, then home to watch the Patriots game! I slept through most of it...and the following game as well. It was cold and rainy...a perfect day for the couch and football.

Number Two: A No Dishner Weekend
The Dishner's are NOT coming!!! Our friends from PA were supposed to be coming up for the weekend, but now have some things going on that are a must. We understand, but hope to see them soon! But what will we do with all the food, booze, O.A.R concert tickets and backstage passes, Red Sox tickets, Patriots tickets and the new car we bought them for their Anniversary? What about the meet and greet we set up with Ryan Howard? I guess we'll put them on eBay. Humph.

I love Kovacs ------ now that he's not with Elizabeth. Can I tell you how many times I wanted to strangle her? At least 50. She was so needy and annoying. Speaking of needy and annoying...I'm so glad that Tenley and Kiptyn didn't win! {Dave and Natalie won} She's just as annoying as Elizabeth. Tenley is like a cartoon character. Ugh.

Ok. Now back to Kovacs...

Did anyone notice in one of the episodes that he was acting like a Sommelier? Well, apparently he knew what he was talking about. Check this out: Kovacs Brothers Wine. I think Kovacs Brothers Wine is a must at this years Thanksgiving Dinner.

Number Four: Ready for the weekend

Yup, I'm ready. I'm ready for the work week to be over. I have been amazingly busy at work, which is nice. It's political season, therefore we are busy. But on the home front, we really need to finish up the painting in our foyer and then on Sunday we are going to tailgating with friends at the NASCAR race and will hopefully be home in time for the Patriots v. Jets game. I love football season!

I know. I know. I've been a bad blogger...again. Things have been hectic around the G household lately. Our labor day was perfect. We did some much needed house cleaning, painted our foyer and stairway, hit the grocery store and even found the time to buy some Fall mums. On Labor Day we went to a family BBQ at my Parents house. Ribs, steak, spinach pita, corn, baked potatoes, salad, you name it. It was there. Of course, I forgot the camera for the BBQ and haven't had the time to download the before and after pictures of our foyer. BUT, to redeem myself, I'll share this photo from my phone.

Stew picked out the BIGGEST Mum I've ever seen. Seriously. It's huge. I'm talking "world record" huge. I cannot wait to see it in full bloom! We picked up some hanging Mums too, but I don't have those pictures yet. Sawey!

This week has gone by pretty quick, seeing it's already Thursday. I snuck out early on Tuesday for a much needed cut and hi-light. Tonight is the first game of regular season FOOTBALL! I actually think I'm more excited to see Dave Matthews and Taylor Swift perform though...but that's OK.

This weekend we have a Jack & Jill for my girlfriend who is getting married on Oct 1st. She's the twin of my girlfriend who got married a few weekends ago. Get it? Then on Sunday, my Mom and I are heading up to the Outlets for some Fall shopping! Stew and my Dad are going to finish painting the foyer. (There were some areas we couldn't reach without a 14 foot ladder - ugh)

These boots were made for walkin'

I'm on a mission...for some great FALL BOOTS. I pretty sure I know what I want, but during my search - I came upon a lot of Dr Martens - 'Memba them? Well, it's the companies 30th anniversary and they launched a new line. Not necessarily to my liking, but cute and colorful, for sure.

They are $129.95 - but, let me explain. I don't have to dress up for work, my normal attire is Bermuda shorts, a cute top and flip-flops during the summer. During the Fall - something like jeans, a top and boots or ballet flats. Well, with that being said, THESE boots would be versatile. I can wear them out for casual events because they have a wedge heel, but I could wear them to work - without being over dressed in HIGH HEEL boots. Get it? I think they are a must - right, Mister G?
