Weekend in the Moutains
Stew and I are back from our mini vacation in the White Mountains. It was so relaxing and IV did great. He slept in his pack and play like a champ. I was worried that he wouldn't sleep well or take naps like he does at home, but he proved me wrong. He never skipped a beat. He was amazing on the car ride, at dinner and we even went swimming at the indoor pool.
During the Summer, IV loved my parents pool. It's been month since then and he STILL loved the pool.
I could cry happy tears - it was such an amazing weekend.

This is so wrong
If you know me - in real life, not blog life...you know that my all time, hands down, favorite-est movie in the entire world is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Three things I want on a deserted island - (besides family) a dirty martini, onion soup and that movie!
One of my favorite scene is:
Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an asshole in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer...
Which brings me to this morning. IV and I were packing various items into his suitcase for our trip up north and I had an idea.

My Settings
I've had some inquiries regarding what settings I've used on some of my Christmas tree photos and some of Baby IV.
Here is the scoop:
I have a Nikon D7000. For most of the portraits that I take of IV, I use a 35mm 1.8 lens.
So here is an example. Keep in mind that I blog while IV naps, so this morning Nate stepped in and took his place in front of the Christmas Tree.
The auto setting will trigger the flash - which I personally don't like. So if you want more natural lighting, simply set your ISO, shutter speed, aperture and white balance. Some people don't ever tough their white balance, but I do. I think it makes a huge difference. This is a great website to check out regarding white balance.
So there you have it. I hope this answered some questions that some of you had.

There's something about it...
There's something about a smiling baby boy - sitting in front of the Christmas tree in his pajamas on Monday morning. I caught up on emails, sipped coffee and watched GMA while this little guy smiled all morning and laughed at the simply joy of some left over wrapping paper I gave him. Ahhh...what a way to start off our week.
