Everything's about to Change...

...and I don't do well with change! No, really. I don't. When I was 25, I finally moved out of my parents house and into Stew's condo. I sat on the floor in our bedroom and cried...cried for hours. I was only about 5 minutes away from my old house, but I couldn't handle the change. I eventually got over it - until Stew and I moved into our first house together. I couldn't figure out the commute to work - I hated it. I didn't have anything in place - therefore, I cried. Luckily, my summer vacation fell over the time we were moving, so I had some time to adjust.

We all know about the changes that are about to happen in April - but I'm excited for those! I'm excited to meet our baby boy - and to become parents. But things in my work life are also changing. New boss, new responsibilities, and a new location. As of Friday - I'll be commuting about 45 minutes each way. GASP! I know! How will I ever do it?!?! Let's be honest - it's not the drive I'm worried about, it's the fact that I won't be able to go to lunch with my Mom every day! For the last 8 years - we've gone to lunch together. I see her every day. Now is not the time for me to NOT see her. I'm pregnant, people! She needs to see me everyday. See - this whole change thing is not good for anyone.

I have decided to take a more adult approach to all these changes - and not just sit in our bedroom and cry. So I'm making the best of it - thinking of the positives. So here we go:  For one - my boss is very cool. Yesterday, he ran an errand and I got text from him asking if I wanted a coffee, tea or hot chocolate. I responded "No, thanks". He brought me a tea anyways and a homemade twinkie from a local diner. Yes, I said TWINKIE. It was to die for.



And, seeing I'm relocating of sorts, I started cleaning out my desk. Keep in mind, I've been here for 8 years. I found a stack of old CDs that I apparently use to listen to at work? Not sure.

Yes, that's my old Limp Bizkit CD, along with Nas, Brittany Spears and a really old Dave Matthews CD. And yes, I will download them in my Jeep.

Another positive is that today I was treated to lunch at the Backroom! For those of you that know the restaurant, you'll know it was good! I ate very well and have the picture to prove it. After I got back to the office, Baby G kicked so hard - unlike anything I've ever felt. I got this nervous wave over me. It scared me...he kicked around for a few more minutes - then finally settled down. So I'm guessing he liked the Backroom too?!?



And lately, when I get home - we normally have some sort of package waiting at the door. It's either something for the Baby, something for us or some sort of Christmas gift that we ordered. This week we got a package from Stew's sister. We put all the gifts under the tree - but I noticed two were the same shape and size. I happened to text her and see if she'd drop any hints. She let us open that one gift. Here is what we got:

A SNUGGIE!

I really don't know why or how I went this long without one! This thing is awesome! After dinner, I grab my peanut M&Ms and my snuggie. Stew got one too - not pink, a "camel" color.

Yesterdays package was "twofer" - a gift for the baby and a gift for our BIG BABY, Nate. Well, I wouldn't call it a gift for the Baby...it was an infant car seat we ordered. I was going to put it on our registry, but they didn't have the exact color and style I wanted, so I went ahead an ordered it. And I'm sorry to say, I didn't snap a photo of Nate's gift - a new orthopedic dog bed. I will though.

I did have a doctors appointment yesterday. Just another 4 week check up. For the first time, the Dr measured me. Another change - another exciting thing. I was measuring right at 21 weeks! Heart rate was good and he was moving all around. After my next January appointment, I'll go every 3 weeks, then 2, then weekly. I can't believe he'll be here in 4 months!

Only two more days to go until the weekend - and Stew and I have a fun weekend planned. More about that later!

Holiday Parties

Over the weekend, we had two Holiday parties to attend. Saturday at 5, we headed to mine first for cocktails. As I mentioned, I have a few boss - that has a printing company. During the hour or so that we were there - I was able to introduce myself to about 15 of the employees. I should be moving my office on Friday - if all goes as planned. I'm not looking forward to doubling my commute, but hey - we'll see how it goes.

After we left my party - we heading to Stew's work party...at a Chinese restaurant. Have I mentioned how much I don't like Chinese food....especially right now? I did my best, but was starving by the time we got home. The peanut M&Ms I devoured helped with that though.

Saturday afternoon, Stew put one of the baby's dressers together! I spent the afternoon removing tags and washing all his clothes. What a project that was! But now, I'm all caught up. Everything that I have is clean. I snapped a few pictures with my phone last night...

The week ahead isn't too exciting - doctors appointment check-up tomorrow morning and possibly moving into my new office on Friday. All of my Christmas shopping is done, presents are wrapped and shipped. I can't wait for Christmas Day with the Fam.

Half Way!!!

I can't believe I'm half way through my pregnancy! I almost feel like it's going too quick. I'm/we are so excited to meet our baby boy, but I am enjoying my pregnancy so much - I don't want it to end.

So here we go with a little Q & A:

How far along are you: 20 weeks - 1/2 way there.

How do you feel: GREAT! I haven't felt better.

Food cravings: grilled cheese and peanut M&Ms.

Food aversions: meat - chicken and steak.

Gender: Baby Boy!

Movement: yes, a lot lately. I'm feeling him kick/move when I put my hand on my stomach. I notice it at night after I eat...or in the morning while laying in bed. One of the coolest feelings! I've had Stew put his hand there, but he hasn't felt anything yet.

Best moment this week: So many great things happening - we are making progress on the nursery, we got the first delivery of our furniture. Feeling him move. Seeing how much our family is doing for our baby and the love they have for him already! It's something I can't even begin to describe. And - booking our maternity tour and classes!

Most looking forward to: The holidays with loved ones.

We were watching America's Funniest Home Videos on Sunday night. I couldn't stop laughing at one of the videos. Stew said "You've never done that before?" I said "No..." So, last night he decided to reenact what I was laughing so hard at.

As you can see...it still cracked me up! I had tears rolling down my face and was on the verge of peeing my pants! Here is the video of Stew from last night - before the Pats game! Hope this makes you laugh as much as it does me.



It's gettting there...

Baby G's nursery is getting there. Over the weekend - while I went out Christmas shopping - Stew broke down all the "guest" furniture and cleaned the nursery. We decided to move our spare dresser into the baby's closet for extra storage - and I love it.

I can't tell you how quick this past week went by! I mentioned in an earlier post that my old boss sold my company - I'm doing the same thing...except working for someone new. And that someone just so happens to be one of the coolest boss' I've ever had. Things are busy on the work front, which makes my days very exciting. With that said - it's a great segue into this little story - I don't normally see (in person) a lot of my clients on a weekly or monthly basis for that matter...so believe it or not, not one of my clients knows that I'm pregnant - until now. I was emailing with a client (she's in her 40s and had a baby boy about a year ago) and happened to say that I hoped her son, was doing well and I told her we were having a baby boy in April. She so generously asked if I'd be interested in some barely worn hand me downs! I was/am so excited. No one has offered me hand me downs - probably because all of our friends are either pregnant or planning on a second in the near future. In her words - she's going to drop off a care package the next time she's in town. Oh boy! I can't wait...brand new or barely worn - it works for me.  And speaking of my baby boy - yesterday, I felt two VERY strong kicks. I even looked down to check because I thought the beaded necklace I was wearing was hitting/bouncing on my belly. Nope - that necklace didn't reach my belly. So those kicks were pretty strong. (ahhh...love it)

Tonight, Stew and I have a dinner date at our favorite spot - Common Man. I've got a hankering for their blue cheese and bacon pub chips! This weekend we are going to breakdown all the furniture in the spare bedroom/nursery. The first of our nursery furniture is being delivered next week! I'm also hoping to finish up some Christmas shopping - which I think I'll be able to do on Sunday. My Mom, Sister and I are venturing out to the M-A-L-L. Yikes!

Next weekend, Stew and I have have not one, but TWO work Holiday parties on Saturday. Mine is at a Brazilian Steak House and his is at a high-end Chinese restaurant. So we are stopping by mine for cocktails and then join his for dinner. That Sunday - I'm hitting the outlets with two of my pregnant girlfriends. So fun.

...for the quality of the photos I'm about to post. I realized that I haven't taken any belly shots lately, so I rushed around this morning prior to leaving for work...and snapped a few. Amazingly - the sun decided to show up this morning, which made it extremely difficult for my camera phone. 

So here we go...I took a quick shot of my baby boy's closet...so far. I decided not to buy any clothes until we knew the gender, so most of this is what we got over the weekend!

I won't even tell you what it looks like at my parents house! They have bought him some of a cutest stuff! I can't wait.
