Wedding Weekend Preview

We are back from the North Country. We had a long weekend at my girlfriends wedding. Great weather, great food, great people and great to be home and back to the grind. Yesterday, we got up around 8am and heading south. We stopped at our house, unpacked the car and then went straight to my parents house (where Nate was having a sleepover) and layed out by the pool. My parents made us a BBQ dinner - ribs, steak tips, chicken, salad, corn and two different pasta salads! A-MAZ-ING!

We headed home around 5:30, did laundry, unpacked and caught up on household stuff. By the time we knew it, the Emmy's were on and the night was coming to an end. I did not have the energy to download all 415 photos that Stew took at the wedding. Sorry. I will share a few that the photographer posted on Facebook though! And I'll be sure to  post mine this week.

My girlfriend Lindsay got married to Grant. Her twin sister was the Maid of Honor, younger sister the Matron of Honor and myself and her sister-in-law were Bridesmaids.

 I'll post our photos this week. Until then, have a great week!

Can we talk...

... about how FREEZING it is in NEW ENGLAND!?!?! Today it is 60 degrees and pouring out. Yesterday was windy and cold, Monday was the same. What is going on? Last night, while walking Nate after work, I put on my fleece jacket. I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt today - WITH JEANS! But I will tell you - this makes me so excited for my second favorite Season - FALL!

:: I love our fall walks ::

:: I love driving past this pond by our house and watch it change throughout the year ::

:: We love cute photo ops with Nate ::

{he looks thrilled, doesn't he?}

:: We love HALLOWEEN, and so does Nate ::

{this pictures was actually on our local News}

It angers me to post the picture of our pumpkins - it's pure JEALOUSY! Every year, we carve pumpkins. Mine comes out like a 5 year old carved it (no offense to my nephew) and Stew's comes out like he's some sort of Professional that you'd see on Martha Stewart. The above picture was from two years ago. Stew's "sexy witch", my "scarecrow" and my sister "O" Face? (I think). Check out this previous years Halloween pumpkins:

Yes, that is Stew's pumpkin of Nate...our boxer! And my New England Patriots logo (actually, mine isn't that bad), But, come on...

:: Speaking of The Patriots, I'm super excited to see this guy back on the field ::

{Wes Welker}

:: And I'm excited to watch my two favorite College teams ::

:: And with Football comes the FOOD ::

We love FOOTBALL SUNDAYS (minus the Sunday part - and having to go back to work the next day). But there is nothing better than a crock pot full of chili, buffalo wings in the oven, chips and dip for dipping and beer flowing.

I cannot wait until the Fall, so many fun things to look forward to and enjoy! But until then, we are happy with a few chilly days - then on Sunday it's back into the 90s with a possible HEAT WAVE approaching. YESSS!!!!

And even more exciting - tomorrow is our FRIDAY for the week. We will be celebrating my girlfriends BIG DAY on Saturday. So Mister will be in charge of taking the photos - I hope. Until then, have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Celebrating the Weekend

This past weekend was filled with a lot of celebrating. Saturday was my parents 39th wedding Anniversary and my Moms Birthday, so we went over to their house early for a Birthday/Anni cook-out. I also had a Bachelorette Party starting at 5, so the BBQ was cut short and I had to get ready.

I'm in one of my girlfriends wedding this coming weekend - so we celebrated at a local winery...wine tasting. Tons of food, tons of wine and all the girls. It was a great time. I was home by 9, but I was beat. We have a big weekend coming up, but I'm excited for it. I love any time where Stew and I can play dress up. Here are a few pictures from the Bachelorette Party.

:: Me and Casey (sister of the Bride) ::

:: all the girls ::

This past Sunday was the first rainy weekend day we've had all summer. We didn't mind though. Stew was able to clean and organize the garage, we went to Target to pick up a few things. We also picked up our RED SOX vs. YANKEES tickets! We are going to the last regular season game on Oct 3rd - (thanks for the offer TD).

Speaking of baseball...we are going to the NH Fischer Cats game (our local minor league team) on Thursday with some of Stew's clients. They are playing the Portland Seadogs, which is the Minor League team for the Red Sox. The weather is going to nice...unlike the rest of the week - rainy and in the 60s. Brrrr. And has anyone been watching the Little League World Series?!?! Those kids are so cute. I love the "fun facts" on the bottom of the screen:

  • "Favorite subject in school: Science"

  •  "Favorite food: Mom's chili"

  • "Nickname: Natie-Cakes"
Yesterday was a rainy day - so I decided to make Buffalo Chicken Dip. I found the recipe and just had to try it. It was a little too much for just the two of us on a Sunday, but would be great for a party. Next time I think I'll cut the recipe in 1/2. Here it is if you're interested:

{Buffalo Chicken Dip}
2 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed. (we grilled them first)
1 cup Franks Red Hot (or any hot sauce)
1 cup Ranch dressing
2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese
1 1/2 cup of shredded cheese

Mix chicken and Red Hot sauce in a pan, heat. Add cream cheese and mix in ranch dressing. Stir until well mixed. Add half the shredded cheese. Transfer to a warming dish. Add the rest of the shredded cheese. Serve with your favorite crackers or Tostitos. Enjoy!

That's all for today...I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy the upcoming week!

"I'mma Lawyer"

You know you're famous - when: your cell phone rings and the person on the line tells you that they just saw you on T.V...yeah, that's when you know you're famous. Right?!?! Well, maybe not.

In December - we [me, mister, my sister and brother-in-law] took a trip to NYC to go Christmas shopping, check out the Rockefeller Center tree, Macy's and all the other Christmas festivities. As we were walking down the street, we came across Harvey Levin (from TMZ) and the production crew for THE PEOPLE'S COURT. My sister and I were one of those crazy people in the crowd that Harvey asks "So, who do you think should pay for the damaged fence?"

I actually took (I thought) a much better picture...where me and Harvey were standing together - his arm around me - but Stew was having the dreaded "camera issues" and this is all we ended up with. A blurry photo of me and my friend Harvey...which looks like he's totally OVER IT. Hmph!

So this afternoon, my sister called to tell me that a friend was home watching THE PEOPLE'S COURT and saw us on T.V. (in the crowd). Ohhhhh Mmmmm Ggggeeee! I wish I was home to see it. I did a quick search on YouTube and couldn't find our episode, but I'll keep looking and be sure to post it if I do.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Ahhhhh... have I mentioned that I love weekends?!?  Yes, I have - which also makes me so sad - it's SUNDAY! But...today is August 15th!!! That means it's one of my lovelies Birthday:

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Dish!!!

Okay, so yes - it's Sunday, but that's OK. There is football on, my pictures are downloaded and Mister and I had a great weekend - I feel good. Complete, if you will. But, up first - Friday night: I might have stopped and picked up this much needed organizer at Marshalls:

Now, I didn't plan this purchase, WE FOUND EACH OTHER! It was destiny. (I kid). But seriously, for $14.99, how can you not fall in love?! (P.S. there are as many pockets in the back as in the front - Eeekkk)

Moving right along: Saturday was spent by the pool (surprise-surprise). My Sister and Bro-in-law came over to hang out - and opened an early ANNIVERSARY gift from my parents. They've been married for 5 WHOLE YEARS! You want to know what you get them?!?! A ball. A blue ball. "What does your future look like Mr. and Mrs. C?"

Kidding. Kidding. Mr. C wanted this, it was an old childhood memory. And kudos to my Mom for recognizing and remembering when he mentioned it.

We layed out by the pool for most of Saturday (see pictures below)

:: pool day ::

:: Our Summer in one photo ::

:: Fire for the Clams ::

And-then! And-then! (Name that movie?!?!?!) No and-then? Ok, then we went on to the next party - the twins' birthday party! Here are a few pictures (as promised):

:: see below ::

That (above) is one of those "had to be there" pictures. The Twins were so cute and so "non-blamable" for taking this, but seriously? They were all about THEM! No one was ready for the picture - EXCEPT for them. We were all laughing. Had. to. be. there.

:: Mix of the Bridal Party for both Weddings ::

So this brings me to SUNDAY, aka NO-FUN-DAY. But apparently on Sundays, Men get manicures: Right?!?!

:: Dad loves his first Mani ::

My Dad is such a good sport.

So it's Sunday night.  There's football on - "T-Ocho" and the rest of the Preseason crowd. Eeekk....even more exciting. I'm about to break out the crock pot and make us some chili!
Cheers to a great week. I have a {secret} feeling this will be a great week for my Sishter!  Hoping you are as exhausted as Nate, Stew and I.

Bad Blogger

Again, I haven't been the best Blog-friend. But, I have an excuse - I haven't been feeling too well this week plus an uneventful week = not much engergy to post. I'm sorry. I'll do better. Maybe with the weekend coming up, I'll have plenty of pictures to post and stories to share.

We did watch "Bachelor Pad" on Monday and let's just say "I'm hooked". If you haven't seen it yet, try to catch it on Monday night. It's well worth it. This weekend we have my twin girlfriends 30th Birthday/Pool party on Saturday and no plans for Sunday. I still can't believe Summer is coming to an end. I feel like I'm in the 5th grade - dreading the thought of going back to school. I can hear my Dad singing now "School Bells Ringin' ... School Bells Singin'...back to School we go". As much as I love Fall in New England, I love Summer. So that's all for today. I'll be sure to take tons of pictures this weekend! And don't forget - the Patriots play their first Pre-Season game tonight! Yesss! Enjoy the rest of the week.

Hello all! I have some bad news...I was a slacker yesterday and never downloaded the pictures from the weekend. BUT, I do have a few iPhone photos to share. That works, right?

Saturday morning Stew and I stopped at the local Seafood Sale and picked up some clams for lunch by the pool. We made a few other stops too. One was to pick up beer and the other was to purchase a tree for my parents to plant in honor of their dog. I have to say...this tree was PERFECT. It's called a SHAGGY DOG WHITE PINE. Are you kidding me? So my parents will plant it in the backyard. We grilled out, floated and enjoyed lunch with my parents. So here are two photos that sum up the day.

A beer stop... a lime and a scratch ticket (And don't be fooled, he bought more than a 6-pack)

Nate in the backseat looking at Buffy's tree

Saturday evening we went to our neighbors going away party. They aren't going away forever, just until December. She is doing an Externship in Tennesee. We didn't know it, but just as we arrived, about 10 people were starting a game of poker, which Stew and I joined. Let's just say, by mid-night - I was doing well. I took them for a whole $6.25. ha.

Sunday morning was productive. I cleaned the house while Stew went grocery shopping. He did come back with a lot of items that weren't on the list. But that's ok - most were some of my favorites. At noon, my girlfriends came over so that we could plan a Jack & Jill. My girlfriend Casey announced that she's expecting her second child - we were all super excited for her. But 4:00, the girls left and Stew and I spent some time watching golf and doing laundry. And finally, Sunday night we watched FOOTBALL! We are a little excited for football season.

But I'm so excited that these two guys are on the same team!

So that's all for today - I'll be sure to download the photos from our weekend. Until then - ENJOY YOUR WEEK!
