Yesterday was a good day. We sold Stew's truck! Now that he's with Reliable Equipment - he has a brand spankin' new company pick-up truck. So we said good-bye to the Silverado!

Love is in the air...

It's officially WEDDING SEASON in the Gregory household. This season started off a little later than normal and is running later too. I'm in two weddings this summer and Stew is in one in November. So on Saturday - the first of many showers took place. First up, my friend Lindsay is getting married in August.

Stew and I spent the rest of the weekend at my parents pool. We grilled out, had wine and lobster.

Today we are back to work - again. I cannot believe this is the last week of July. Where is my SUMMER going? Hope you all had a great weekend - and I hope you enjoy the week.

Thoughtless Thursday - The Cape

Stew's parents live at the Cape and we try to get down there as much as our work schedules will allow.

I'm loving...

... FRANK'S RED HOT SAUCE! It is to die for. Last night, we grilled boneless chicken breast and I made a huge blue cheese salad. I started off by marinating the chicken breast in Frank's Red Hot while me and Stew went for a walk. Once we got back, he's grilled while I prepped the salad. Once we sat down for dinner, we added more HOT SAUCE and used it as a dipping sauce. I honestly couldn't get enough. I have never been a fan of plain chicken breast, but after it's smothered in FRANK'S RED HOT...I'm sold. If you haven't tried it...you should. If you have a favorite Hot Sauce - please tell me about it.

Picture this - Stew and I driving to my parents house for a day of sun and fun - we're a tad...what do you call it? TIRED? yeaaa. HUNGOVER? slightly. silence. Music on - windows down.

Allie: {dead silence} "Stew, you know the phrase "Does a bear sh*t in the woods?" 

Stew: "yeah"

Allie: "the answer is YES, right??!" (with a perplexed look on my face.)

Stew: {HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER} "YES! is that what goes on in your mind?" 

Guess you had to be there. Very funny. 

Here is our weekend wrap up:

Friday night, Stew and I had a BIG date. We got home from work, sat on the deck with C&C's (Captain & Cokes for all you non-cocktail people), chatted about our day {a must} - then showered and went on a DATE. I seriously, fall in love with my Husband every date we have. We went to the Common Man - {picture in your mind a tavern/wicked good food/always busy} type of place. We sat in our spot at the bar - with our favorite bartender- drank and ate. Blue cheese and bacon pub chips & onion soup to be exact - yeah healthy. Great night, though. We also tricked our favorite bar tender to give us another pint-glass with the Common Man logo on it....so that always makes it worth-while.   :)

Has anyone in New England noticed the weather lately? This is one of the best SUMMERS ever - which is why Saturday was spent at the pool - surprise-surpise! But the best part of Saturday was that we had a sleep-over with my SHISHTER and B-I-L. Okay, okay. I'll back up - Saturday started by the pool around 11am. Soon after, the burgers, sausage, cheese dogs were cooking, the ULTIMATE summer BBQ. As soon as my Sister arrived, I was hawking her wrists - looking for someone to pawn my DUCK silly-band off on. Well - I have the BEST Husband in the world and he got me a few packs of SILLY BANDZ™! {see pic} And - I gave my Dad a few to give to the kids he stole the Dolphin from. I need to get back up to the lake and attempt to redeem myself for getting duped the other day by a 7th grader. Now though, I have a full stock of Bandz™ to use to my advantage. 

So after the long, hard day of lounging by the pool...my sister and her husband came up to our house to continue the festivities. The same routine went deep into the night to the point where Nate was even able to sleep in bed with them...which is a funny visual because he's as big as a person....so to see the three of them spooning each other this morning was priceless.

Phone Photos Phriday

Happy Friday ladies...and men? Probably not so much. To be honest, I haven't felt all that well this week. I have diagnosed myself with "back-to-work-after vacation" type sickness. It has taken me all week to get use to waking up to the alarm. I'm bad. With that said, I/we haven't done too much this past week. My girlfriends stopped over on Wednesday to go over more details for Lindsay's shower (next weekend). My girlfriend, Casey had her adorable 16 month old daughter with her. I literally thought Nate was going to have a heart attack. He was so excited. I could only image what he was thinking. He just loves babies and small children. It's cute. And I'm sure Nate looked like a HORSE to her. Other than that, Stew and I slacked all week. Sat outside on the deck after work, caught up on DVR - watched the ESPYs, Big Brother, Home run Derby and that was it. We have plans to go to dinner this weekend and some pool time as well. Soooo...Seeing my week was "uneventful" and I was just sitting here - scrolling through my iPhone photos, I thought I'd share. These are very random.

First up: A picture from December 5, 2009. Stew and I in New York City - having beers at an Irish Bar. We made the trip with my Shister and BIL to see Rockefeller and the big 'ol Christmas tree.

Made a stop at Macy's and took a ton of pictures.

Next - sometime around Christmas. I bought Nate an Elf hat, which he hated.

I just love this next picture. This was taken on Tuesday of this week. Every day - when I get home from work, Nate and I go for a quick walk. Well, we have this ADORABLE white cat in our neighborhood - named EDDIE. Are you kidding me, "Eddie"? He is the best cat. So friendly, yet not annoying. Stew even loves him. Nate - not so much. You just say the name Eddie around him and he start vibrating. Well, on Tuesday - Nate came {almost} face to face with Eddie.

This picture was from yesterday. I'm in love with old VW Bugs/Beatles. In college I had a "new" body style in red. But my favorites are the old restored ones - like a '54. This is a little too "new" for my liking, but still very nice. I wish I could say it was my new toy, but it's not.

This picture was also from last night (Thursday). We were watching Big Brother and I snapped this photo of my two favorite boys. 'Nuff said.

And finally, my Dad must have read my latest post because when I was at my parents house yesterday,

I had this waiting for me. He has been doing some home improvement work at someones house and found this on the floor. HA! Some small child is probably looking for it.

Well it's mine now - All mine! Thank you, Dad.

Two-For-Tuesday

Two-for-Tuesday...that saying kind of brings back memories - from College. I remember going out in Downtown Manchester on Tuesday nights for Two-For Tuesday drinks with my girlfriends. *sigh*

Movingrightalong... Here is my version of Two-for-Tuesday. Two things I'm thought you should know about -

Number One:
Over my vacation, as you all know, we attended an 18th Birthday party. There actually weren't any 18 year-olds there - except the "Guest of Honor" if you will. We were among 12, 17, 20, 30, 40 and 50 year-olds. It was a good mix - but the 12 to 30 year-olds all had one thing in common - SILLY BANDZ. Well, to be VERY honest (and somewhat embarrassed) I was the only 30 year old wearing a Silly Band. Shocking I know. Haven't heard of Silly Bandz yet? These rubbery bands, which come in a multitude of collectible shapes — cowboy boots to monkeys to Wally the Green Monster — are so trendy that if they were a person, they’d be Justin Bieber.

They are seen stretched out on the wrist, the bracelets — known generically as silly bands, but sold as Silly Bandz, Stretchy Shapes, and Goofy Bands — don’t look that special. It’s off-wrist that the genius of the product can be appreciated. They come in such a wide variety of shapes that there may not be a human alive who couldn’t find something appealing. They’re cute, cheap (about $3 for a pack of 12, and about $5 or higher for a pack of 24), and out of control. Most "kids" trade for different shapes or animals.

That day, I happened to have a Longhorn band on (I'm a Colt McCoy Texas fan). I traded with a 12 year-old for a Duck. I thought the duck was cute. To my surprise, the Longhorn was rare - to her and her circle of Silly Bandz friends. I was duped. Here I am showing off my newest trade - a duck! And she is running around showing off this extraordinary Longhorn. (I must have had too many Captain & Cokes, right?) No, it was cute and I'm glad I could make her day, whether I knew what I was doing or not. {Sidenote: I owe it all to my Brother-in-law (he's a teacher) who gave me that band}. I just hope that some day - someone out there will trade me something cool {or cooler} than this duck I'm stuck with. And of course, in the future, silly bands may seem as quaint as Beanie Babies, Pogs, or Garbage Pail Kids, but hey, that’s tomorrow. Until then, I'm 30 and still "cool" in the eyes of a 12 year-old.

Number Two:
[DISCLAIMER: I'm fully aware this book is not on the New York Times Best Seller's List...but I'm intrigued]

Yesterday, I asked Stew to swing into our Barnes & Noble (his new shop is close by) to see if they had a new release I've been dying to read: Sliding into Home by Kendra Wilkinson. Yes, Kendra Wilkinson, the former Playboy Bunny/Hugh Hefner's Ex-girlfriend/Reality TV "Star". It's a tell all book about drugs, stripping and life in the Playboy Mansion as one of Hefner's live-in girlfriends.  Eeeek! I think it's going to be good/interesting. But, poor Stew is walking around Barnes & Noble with an 80 year-old employee looking for this somewhat scandalous hardcover book. (makes me giggle)

THEY WERE COMPLETELY SOLD OUT - gasp.

 I called Boarders and Target. No one had it in stock. So I ordered it on Amazon.com this morning. Sadly, it won't be shipped for a few weeks - but I'll wait. Looks like I'm not the only one dying to read it. I'll give you my un-professional review once I do get it.
