One Week!

Today, I had a check up with my OB. Baby G's heart rate was strong. My Dr. said "he" was very active and moving around. She said no doubt in the next week or so, I'll really be able to feel him move. She referred to the Baby as him...the whole time. I said "Is that your guess?" She said "It's my gut.".

I was on the phone with my new insurance company as well today...getting the best options for "G". She actually said "When your son is born..." I laughed...and somewhat cried. I thought it was funny that she referred to the Baby as a boy...and the fact that she said "Son". We're going to have a Son or a Daughter in the next 5 months! That is still so surreal to me.

Which brings me to this...in one week - we will know if we are having a Son or Daughter! That means I'll be able to actually buy one of the two items that I've been eyeing for a long time.

If we have a Boy:
My first purchase will be this hat - so he can go ice fishing with his Dad and my Dad...

If we have a Girl:
My first purchase will be this adorable dress I saw at the Gap. She'll be wearing this on the 4th of July for sure! ADORABLE!

A lunch meeting down south tomorrow - which will take up most of the work day...then two days until the weekend.

Wedding in Baltimore

Stew and I left for Baltimore on Friday morning for his college friends wedding. But, on a side note: I left work on Thursday afternoon and my boss (old boss) said:

Boss: "Are you excited for this weekend?"
Me: "yes, I am"
Boss: "Do all of your friends know about your CONDITION?"
Me: "My condition? Are you kidding me? Do you mean that I'm expecting - I'm with child?"

My boss lacks couth - or common sense.

So that was the joke of the weekend..."I couldn't really do anything - seeing I had a condition"

We had a great time with some friends that we hadn't seen in a while. The food was amazing all weekend! From Chili's with the Groom on Friday, the rehearsal dinner at an Italian restaurant, the lobster bisque and baked brie - the CRAB CAKES and fillet at dinner. Oh, I can't leave out the chocolate fondue bar and CANDY BAR either! At one point during the wedding...Stew actually yelled at me and said "Stop eating candy - you're going to get a belly ache". (it was adorable)

Seeing I'm still "recovering" from a weekend of early mornings and late nights, I'm keeping this post short and sweet.

Here are a few pictures from our weekend in Baltimore:

16 Weeks!

How far along? 16 Weeks

Baby's size? My iPhone app still says avocado - but the fruit/veg will change tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Weight Gain? 5 pounds.

Maternity clothes? just my Gap jeans.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep? still great.

Foods I am loving? pickles, sweets, salt & vinegar chips, cinnamon raisin toast.

Foods I am hating? Meat.

Movement? I'm going to answer yes, because I still feel these bubbles down low. Not 100% sure if it's movement or not.

Symptoms? I'm a tad emotional. I cry over commercials - you know? things like that.

Gender? I'm still sticking with BOY...2 weeks until we officially know.

What I'm looking forward to? Heading to Baltimore for Mike's wedding - and our gender ultrasound and Thanksgiving...I guess a lot!

Weekly Wisdom: "Do what you think is best"...still.

Milestones: Finding out "G's" gender soon.

Emotions: Happy!

* I don't have a 16 week picture...I'll be sure to take plenty at the Wedding this weekend.

* My girlfriend Casey had her gender ultrasound today. I was wrong - she's having another GIRL. It just goes to show that all those "myths" - are just that. Her baby's heart rate was always in the 138-140s. She craved things that she didn't with her girl, she was a lot more sick with this one...

* Tomorrow is my last day of work this WEEK. Yay for a long weekend! Chat next week...with lots of pictures.

15+ weeks & a weekend wrap-up

Happy Monday! I can't believe it's Monday again. I also can't believe how much I say that. Ugh! This weekend went by way too fast. I feel like I wasn't home for two days - and now, we are already back to work. It was a busy weekend, albeit a fun one...

Saturday, I had a hair appointment, then Stew and I went out for a bit...and ended the day with an amazing dinner at the Common Man - our favorite spot. The pub chips were delish as always.

Sunday - I picked up my Mom and my Sister. We headed downtown for lunch and had the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert at attend. By noon, we were downtown at Portland Pie Company...which happened to be at the City Marathons finish line. We had a window seat to all the action. It was a lot of fun watching everyone cross the finish line. I must have cried 15 times. Seriously...I couldn't help it. I saw a Mom (my age) running by herself - Husband and small daughter cheering her on...and the (maybe) 2 year old daughter cross under the gates to run across the finish line with her - hand in hand. Cue the tears!

The concert started at 3 and ended about about 6:15ish...and was a blast. Baby G heard the music for sure. I felt a lot of flutters during the concert. I guessing "G" liked it.

We were so close to the stage - when the pyrotechnics went off...you could feel the heat. It was insane. So thank you to my Mom for taking my sister and I. And thank you to KDC and Mom for a great lunch and a fun day!

I'm looking forward to this week though. It's a 4 day week because we are off to Baltimore for Mike's wedding. My Sisters birthday is tomorrow! My girlfriend Casey is finding out her baby's gender on Wednesday (I think she's having a boy)...oh and did I mention the new Boss!? Yeah, my old boss sold the company...along with me. So I'll have a bit more of a commute and whole lot more of responsibility. I think this week, I'll head down south to check out my new digs!

Ok...now onto the "15 week" part. Stew left the house before me to go grocery shopping, so he wasn't around to take a picture of the growing belly. I made do. Here is my 15 week 4 day picture from yesterday.

Oh! and did I mention that our gender ultrasound is in 2 weeks! 2 WEEKS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! Yes, a tad excited.

That's all for today. More to come this week....

:: Happy November ::

I can't believe it's November already! This is a very busy month for us - but more about that later.

This past weekend was a blast. My Mom and I went to the Outlets shopping all day on Saturday. I picked her up at 9:30 and we didn't get home until 5:00. I was exhausted - but so worth it. We stopped mid-day for lunch at an awesome little Seafood place on the coast.

After hitting Yankee candle, Coach, Carters, Jcrew, Banana Republic, Gap and all the other little stores - we were both done...and had a trunk full of stuff - both for us and Baby G. I think I found our diaper bag at the Coach Outlet. I'm going to take Stew to look at it too...I tried out a few strollers...and think I narrowed that down as well. Such a good day. And I even treated myself to these Uggs...so warm. so comfy.

When I got home on Saturday, Stew and I carved pumpkins and baked up the seeds. We made a pizza and watched "Little Monsters". The fire place was on, my new Yankee Candle was burning...just a perfect way to end a great Fall day.

On Sunday - we prepared the house for Trick or Treating! Stew decorated the front porch with our Jack-o-lanterns, cobwebs, spiders and a rat. We also got his "costume" ready, so that he could "scare" the kids. (I use those words loosely, because... 1. As you can see, it was a sheet that I cut eyes into. 2. I was laughing so hard that I'm sure he didn't scared as many kids as he would have liked. And 3. What you can't see is that he was holding a beer under the sheet.

And today...it's back to work! But it's NOVEMBER. We have so many things to look forward to:

:: Haircut (I might do something different - we'll see)
:: Trans Siberian Orchestra with Mom and my Sister
:: Baltimore for Caruso's Wedding festivities
:: BIRTHDAYS: friends and family members
:: Our 5 year Engagement ANNIVERSARY
:: GENDER ultrasound (23 more days)
:: Start the nursery
:: Thanksgiving with Family
:: Mini Holiday Vacation from work
:: Holiday Parties
:: Tons of FOOD
:: Possible new owner/boss at my company...(I'm not 100% sure I'm looking forward to this, we'll see)

That is all for today...but if you have the opportunity - grab (in my case, Decaf) a Gingerbread coffee from Dunkin' Donuts! It's amazing. I stopped for a Pumpkin coffee, but they are "done" with that flavor...so I went for Gingerbread.

Have a great first day of November...stay tuned for pictures from this weekend.
