Sneak Peak

I know. It's been awhile since my last post - and so much has gone on since then. I swore that I would post today - so here it is. Just a sneak peak of what's to come. We have a busy weekend planned - but I will be sure to catch up this weekend.

Snow Day post

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday - we worked. MLK Jr day was not celebrated at my company or Stew's. But today - that's another story. I'm working from home today due to the large amount of snow falling. I woke up around 7:00 - took one look outside and made the decision to go back to bed until 8:30...the time work "starts". I did manage to run downstairs and grab Nate though. He's such a good "snuggler." So I've been home, working - with the fireplace lit and the View on TV. I plan on packing for our trip to Florida and making some chocolate chip cookies too. It's that darn sweet tooth of mine.

Speaking of sweet tooth's - Stew and I went shopping and grabbed a late lunch in Boston on Saturday. We walked around Faneuil Hall in search of the perfect dessert. 

It was a hard choice - but I went with a chocolate chip cookie advertised as - "less butter, more chips". We did some shopping and then finally picked up my parents at the airport - they were in Aruba for 2 weeks! 

On Sunday, we put a turkey in the oven and lounged around - waiting for the much anticipated Patriots v. Jets game. THEY LOST! I hate watching the Super Bowl when the Pats aren't playing. But seeing the game wasn't nearly as good as we thought it'd be - I had time to snap a few pictures around Baby G's room. It's still a work in progress - so once we get closer, I'll take pictures of his crib and dressers. 

I'm off to finish up some things - got to make my cookies and start packing for our birthday get-a-way to Florida! 

What I'm loving Wednesdays!

• I'm loving that my Dr said the words "Perfect" yesterday when referring to my weight, belly/baby measurement and my blood pressure!
• I'm loving that it's 2:24pm and we've already received 15" of snow.
• I'm loving being home with my boys on this snow day.
• I'm loving that it's my birthday next week.
• I'm loving my sons "kicks".
• I'm loving the Bachelor and Teen Mom 2.
• I'm loving the new body lotion I picked up. 
• My new hair salon.

I had my monthly check up yesterday - 25 weeks: 

• My Dr. gave me a wonderful orange "drink" for my glucose test. I have to drink it prior to my appointment next month.
• My next appointment is February 3rd. That's our 28 week ultrasound, glucose test and check up all in one. I'm nervous for them to tell me I'll need a c-section, but also excited to see Baby G again. 
• I've gained 13lbs.
• I still feel amazing - except for my back pain.
• I'm not crazy about meat - but love grilled cheese.
• I still have the biggest sweet tooth.
• I had two Shirley Temples at lunch the other day - they were amazing.
• I'm ready to take Baby G on his first trip to Florida - even know he's still in my belly. 

24 weeks!

24 weeks - 6 months! I can't believe how fast my pregnancy is going. I'm almost starting to panic. He'll be here before we know it. I can't wait.

So here is a quick update on things:

• I'm still feeling wonderful! Me and Mister battled a little cold for a week or so - but are both feeling much better.
• At work - if I sit too long, I get this sharp pain in my back...but that is really my only complaint.
• We bought a body pillow to help with the whole "sleeping on your side" thing. I'm not a side-sleeper, so it's tough, but the pillow seems to help.
• The nursery is somewhat at a stand still right now. We have all the furniture and bedding - his dresser drawers are becoming full and his closet it filling up quick too. We have decorating to do and some paint touch ups - but that's about it.
• I started our registry online. We'll get into the store and pick out a few more things too.
• I have a Dr apt next week - then an ultrasound on Feb 3rd to check if my placenta is still "low". Hopefully it raised up and I wont need a c-section. FINGERS CROSSED.
• Stew and I are spending my birthday in SW Florida. I'm so excited for some warm weather. I tried on my bikini last night {gasp}. Stew loved it...I'm still not sold on it - but that's ok.
• I have a hair appointment this weekend - and I'm going back to blonde. The dark was fun for a minute...but I'm ready to feel more like "myself" - if that's possible.
• Work is great. I'm working from home some days - and coming into the office on others.
• The weather is cold.
• We went to bed at 9:00 on New Years Eve. (We have an excuse though - my parents left for Aruba and had to be at the airport for 4...so we had to be up at 3).
• I'm going to be 31 soon.
• I've realized that not many people know what a "Mocktail" is.
• I'm still loving peanut M&Ms...
• ...and grilled cheese.
• I can't get enough fruit - or cheese.
• I don't know how much weight I've gained - seeing I don't weigh myself at home. I'll let you know next week though.
• My belly button is out - for sure.
• My co-worker (Jim) keeps bringing me yummy treats like a GIANT Special Dark bar and Soft Bake Cookies.
• We went shopping at the Outlets and it was in the 50s...so I didn't have a big heavy coat on. People were staring at my belly. It was the first time I saw people notice. I loved it.
• My nails are amazing lately.
• I find that now that people can tell I'm pregnant - complete strangers cater to me. I like that.
• I found some Gap Maternity long sleeves on sale for $5 each! SCORE.
• I'm so anxious to meet our boy.

Good-bye 2010

First, I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately, things at work are still very busy and I haven't found the time to get my personal "stuff" done. 

Tomorrow is New Years Eve - I'm not working, but Stew is for part of the morning. I was going to go into work - but about 5 minutes ago, that planned changed. I think I'll stay home in my pjs with Nate. 

2010 was an amazing year - one of the most exciting for us! 

January -  I turned the BIG 3-0

March - Vacation in Aruba

June - Stew quit his job and started his own company

August - We started "trying" for a family and got pregnant!

October - My company was sold and I have a new boss that I love

November - We found out we'd be blessed with a BABY BOY!

We cannot wait to kick off 2011. Our son will be here before we know it! I couldn't be happier. Things are so good and I have so much to be thankful for. 

2011: 

January - 6 months pregnant and turning 31

February - Vacation in Las Vegas

March - our Baby Shower (yes, I know when it is)

April - Baby Gregory is expected to arrive

Our new life as a family of FOUR (including Nate)

2010 Christmas card and other fun stuff

Well, seeing today is Christmas Eve Eve and tomorrow is Christmas Eve day - everyone should have received their Christmas card in the mail, which means, I can finally share with all my blog friends as well.

Seeing I'm a real "do it yourself-er"...we set up the tri-pod and had a little photo session. The problem was that we had to wait until the end of the day - when my baby belly is big...or bigger than in the morning. So this photo was taken shortly after dinner. Stew worked so hard at getting it just right to really show off my belly...going as far as tucking in my shirt to the under part of my bra!!! Yes...I couldn't stop laughing! He's too much sometimes.

This was the other option, but we thought the three ornaments had more of a meaning this year.



Now, there is a funny story to our selection of the Christmas photo. My idea was the Merry Christmas one...then Stew started looking around for inspiration and came up with two large ornaments and a baby ornament - symbolizing our new family. Well - for some - it didn't go as planned. A day after I sent out the cards, I got a text from one of my girlfriends that read:

"I just got your card. HAHAHAHAHA. I love it - so funny"

So I'm thinking to myself - "It wasn't supposed to be funny" but, responded "thanks" anyways. In total confusion, I never said anything to Stew about it...until the following day when someone said to Stew:

"Nice card. What would you have done if it was a girl?"

Now, Stew doesn't know about the text I received - he's confused as well and tells me about his conversation. I said "what does that mean?" This person thought the three ornaments represented our baby boys "stuff" (if you know what I mean). I quickly texted my girlfriend and asked why she laughed at our card and she responded:

"because the two big balls and little ball represent that you are having a BOY"

I WAS HORRIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily, no one else texted or called us about our "frank & beans" Christmas card! Or maybe it was that they were too embarrassed to say anything?!?! I'm not sure. But I will tell you - that was not our intention. It was supposed to represent our new family! So we're not the sick ones - it was everyone else that thought that...right? :)

So there you have it - our Christmas card and story. Today is the last day of work this week and we are closing early for a little party. Everyone brought food and drinks. I've never had a Christmas work party. I hear about them...but seeing it was always just me and my boss...(who is Jewish) we never had one in the 8 years I was working for him. Well now that I'm in my new office...I have all the employees that work at the new owners company downstairs. And this morning...a few of them brought up little gifts for me!  Speaking of these employees - they are all great, very nice people. A lot of them are family members of the owner. Well, seeing I'm 22 weeks pregnant - you'd think everyone would notice and know. Well that's not the case. I was talking with two of them the other day - one of which I knew for sure knew that I was pregnant. So we are talking and I said "Well seeing that I'm not drinking...." and the other said "Why would you give up drinking?" I was confused (again) and went on to say why - but the other person jumped in and yelled "Because she's pregnant". "OH MY GOSH! I HAD NO IDEA!!!" she replied.

Really? No idea? Ok. Moving on. I'm waiting for my Husband to pull in and check out my new digs - and another employee comes out with a plate of cookies. She said "Come down and have some cookies later - this is no time to diet". I said "No, it's not...I'm pregnant". She said "YOU ARE? OH WOW" Seriously? Do people think this is just a beer gut? So apparently people think I just have this weird belly thing going on. And - this morning...one of my gifts from a guy in the office was WINE! Bringing a pregnant lady wine... It's the thought that counts. Right?

I'm so excited for this weekend - I have a lot of work to do to get things ready for Christmas, Stew is going to get the rest of the baby's furniture together too! I can't wait to see the crib. More pictures to come.

Weekend Get-a-way

Things have been a little hectic with work lately - that I haven't had time to blog. The move on Friday was successful and I'm happy. I love my new office, so that makes my 35 minute commute less severe. Yes, 35 minutes. I know at first I was thinking - "it's going to take me an hour each way!", but luckily it doesn't. I timed it yesterday morning. Our door to my exit is exactly 30 minutes and once I'm off the highway it's another 5 on the dot. So it's not that bad.
With that said - Stew and I had a little weekend get-a-way planned in the Mountains. I haven't had the time to download any photos - so these are a few from my phone. We had a great time...did a lot of shopping, eating and relaxing by the fire.

Only one more day of work - Thursday, I have a little office party planned, so that doesn't count. Stew and I will be home on Friday, cooking and getting things ready to host Christmas Day with my family. I can't wait for the food and time with my Family. Plus, we are supposed to get a snow storm on Christmas night. I hope we do. If it's going to be cold - it should s*n*o*w.
